Our Children’s Ministry consists of Sunday school at 10 a.m. every Sunday and Children’s Church during the 8:45 a.m. service and the 11:00 a.m. service each Sunday.
Children’s Day is held the first Sunday in May, where we present all third graders with a Bible. We also recognize all who work with our kids.
A summer kids’ event called Cave Quest VBS was hosted at St Paul UMC - Gainesville. At Cave Quest, kids participated in memorable Bible-learning activities, sang catchy songs, played teamwork-building games, made and ate yummy treats, experienced one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collected Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of Jesus’ love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with.
On Wednesday evenings during the school year, the kids have class time coupled with children’s choir practice. There is also a play time to end the evening. During the summer months we meet three or four times for fun activities. We go bowling and enjoy swim parties and cookouts. We also frequently go to the Frances Meadows Water Park for lots of great fun in the water.
One year in December, we went to Bryson City, North Carolina to ride the Polar Express to the “North Pole.” The kids enjoyed hot chocolate and also heard the Polar Express book read to them. Santa will boarded the train to present each child with a gift.
Our Children’s Council meets quarterly and plans events and chooses the curriculum we use. We have a fully-staffed nursery from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. each Sunday.
