Adults

We offer several Adult Sunday School classes each Sunday.

Adult Sunday School Classes

Adult Sunday School is an important part of Church life here at St. Paul United Methodist. Our goal is to build the kingdom of God and change lives through the power of the Word of God. Adult Sunday School is a place for people to come and be discipled and learn Christian fundamentals through biblical topics, discussions, and activities. Our Adult Sunday School meets each Sunday at 10 AM to pray for one another, support each other, and equip people to be a positive influence in their world. We encourage you to bring someone who doesn't normally attend church with you to a small group.

Many are fond of saying "circles are better than rows." In our walk with Christ, we know that true life change often happens in meaningful relationships with other believers. Sharing life through community is part of God's design for our lives, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why our Adult Sunday School exists—to make these life-changing relationships available and accessible to you.

On Sundays, we offer these Adult Sunday School classes:

Jars of Clay/Lend-A-Hand Sunday School Class
Led by Shirley Whitaker / Sundays at 10am / Room 204

Jars of Clay/Lend-A-Hand Class is the result of the merger of two classes.  Shirley Whitaker is the teacher on the first, second, and fourth Sundays.  Angela Ivie leads the class on the third Sunday and fifth Sunday when there is one.  In addition to the Bible, we use material from the United Methodist organization and occasionally a book from the St Paul library. The first few minutes before the class begins are devoted to bringing to everyone’s attention names of people in need of prayer.  A collection is received and the money is donated to one of the many charitable organizations St Paul supports, such as Good News at Noon and Family Promise.

Mixed Blessings Sunday School Class
Led by Dwain Cassidy / Sundays at 10am / Room 208

The Mixed Blessings Sunday School Class currently is open to a variety of ages. We are a discussion-style class led by rotating teachers, including Dwain Cassady, David Long, and Jerry Walling. We alternate between studying books of the Bible and other books.

Seekers Sunday School Class
Led by Robert Thorpe / Sundays at 10am / Room 207

The Seekers Sunday School Class is a group of adults of all ages who are seeking more knowledge and understanding of what the writers of the books in the Bible said and what Jesus said.  We frequently utilize material from the United Methodist Church. The leader of the class is Robert Thorpe who presents a prepared lesson based on the Bible and various study materials. Occasionally we have a lesson presented by a different class member or a guest speaker.

Wednesdays from 10am - Noon

One of the most popular and fun programs in our Senior Adult Ministry is called F.L.O.W, which stands for Fun and Leisure on Wednesday. We gather every Wednesday to enjoy refreshments, and play games. The games include, but are not limited to, Rummikub, Hand & Foot. This is one of the most successful ministries at St. Paul. The fellowship and friendship enjoyed among the members is wonderful. F.L.O.W is one of the best-attended activities we have here. In addition, we continue to gain new Church members through this ministry.
